Welcome to Mood-E ("the app"). By using the app you accept these terms of use. Please read them carefully.
1. Description of the service
Mood-E is a free, ad-supported app that suggests movies based on your mood, shows trending movies and titles currently in cinemas, and lets you keep a mood diary and a personal list of movies to watch and already watched. An optional subscription ("Mood-E Premium") is also available, which removes ads and unlocks additional features.
2. Permitted use
The app is intended for personal, non-commercial use. You may not decompile, modify or distribute the app or its content without authorisation.
3. Movie data and TMDB
Movie information (titles, posters, plots, ratings, trailers) is provided by The Movie Database (TMDB) and may change or not always be available. Information about movie availability on streaming platforms is provided by JustWatch through TMDB: it is purely indicative and may be out of date or differ from the platform's actual catalogue in your country.
This app uses data provided by TMDB but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
4. Mood-E Premium subscription
Mood-E Premium is a monthly auto-renewing subscription, purchasable through Apple in-app purchases:
- the price is shown in the app and on the App Store page before purchase; payment is charged to your Apple ID;
- the subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before expiry;
- you can manage or cancel the subscription at any time in iOS Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions; cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for;
- with "Restore purchases" (in the app's Settings) you can reactivate the subscription on a new device signed in with the same Apple ID;
- Premium benefits (no ads, Duo Night, Challenge a friend, iCloud sync, exclusive icons and themes, quizzes, Siri shortcuts, personalised profile) may evolve over time: any substantial changes will be communicated in the app;
- any refunds are handled exclusively by Apple according to its policies.
5. Limitation of liability
The app is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness or continuous availability of the data shown (including showtimes, schedules, and availability of movies in cinemas and on streaming platforms). Use of the app is at your sole risk.
6. Third-party content
Trailers are played through YouTube and are subject to YouTube's terms of service. Directions to cinemas are provided through Apple Maps and are subject to Apple's terms.
7. Advertising
The free version of the app shows ads provided by Google AdMob, which make it possible to offer the service free of charge. Ads are third-party content: we are not responsible for the products or services advertised. Premium subscribers see no ads. 8. Affiliate links
Some buttons in the app (for example "Rent" or "Buy") open external stores such as Amazon or Apple TV through affiliate links: if you complete a purchase, Mood-E may receive a small commission, at no extra cost to you. Purchases made on those stores are governed exclusively by the terms and conditions of the store itself.
9. Community and conduct
In the "Recommendations" section you can post requests and suggestions visible to other users. You agree not to post content that is offensive, illegal, misleading, or that contains personal data (yours or other people's). Content goes through an automatic filter and can be reported by users: we reserve the right to remove inappropriate content. Features based on shared codes (Duo Night, challenges) are intended for use only with people you know.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be published on this page along with the update date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
